Toyota GRMN RMS prototype

FWIW, this is actually a MR2 Spyder underneath, but with... modifications: https://toyotagazooracing.com/archive/gr/event/autosalon2012/carlist/lgrmn_02.html
Specifically, the entire hybrid powertrain, including the rear electric motor, from either a third-gen RX 450h or a late second-gen Highlander Hybrid was put in.
The engine is in the middle still, with the RX/Highlander’s rear electric motor up front, so it’s a 295 hp mid-engine AWD hybrid sports car.

I’m going to guess it was the power train from the GS450h rather then from a crossover.

Nope, the GS 450h powertrain is very much a longitudinal front-engine powertrain with mechanical AWD. (And it uses a different engine code.)
The crossover powertrain is already transverse FWD, which is what the MR2 is designed for - transverse FWD powertrains in the back. Then, use the electric rear motor in the front to get AWD.

Well that’s neat.
